Professional Experience:
Melissa is currently  a senior safety consultant and is also in charge of Planning & Development. She manages a wide range of projects for a variety of businesses and industries. She is the principle account manager for several heavy industries in Southwest Pennsylvania, and assists with two international clients in long-term projects. Prior to joining the Safety Department, Inc.®, she directed the safety program at a large health care facility. In that capacity, she assisted in developing the facility's first employee safety & health committee and facilitated the transition from a management-only safety program to an employee-initiated safety program. Melissa has been authorized by the U.S. Department of Labor and OSHA to instruct both their thirty and ten hour courses in Safety Standards. In addition, she has received safety credentials from West Virginia University and the OSHA Training Institute. She has also completed instructor training for MSHA Part 46.

Melissa serves on the safety committee for the Western Pennsylvania chapter of the Associated Builders & Contractors. Before returning to Pennsylvania in 1995 to complete her baccalaureate degree, Melissa spent a number years as a graphic artist in Baltimore.

Education:
Melissa holds a BS in Human Resource Management from Geneva College.
